Chanel Waikiki hosted a reception for artists being featured in The Contemporary Museum’s Biennial of Hawai’i Artists exhibition, in its third floor gallery.
For the first time, Chanel has partnered with The Contemporary Museum to bring a small sampling of its Biennial of Hawai’i Artists into Waikiki, to introduce visitors to some of the best of Hawaii’s contemporary artists.
After all, if left to the obvious sights and sounds of Waikiki, they may otherwise think that all Hawaii has to offer is dolphin and honu art and postcard photography.
The Biennial featuring works by Kloe Kang, Abigail Romanchak, Rosa Silver, Jason Teraoka, Marc Thomas, Maika’i Tubbs and Scott Yoell will continue at TCM through Jan. 9, 2011. The show at Chanel Waikiki will continue in its third-floor gallery through Dec. 4, where a reception for the artists took place Sept. 30.
Regional VP at Chanel, Joyce Okano, said it’s important to promote Hawaii culturally as well as physically, and she hopes the exhibition will cause visitors to become “enamored with Hawaii in deeper ways.”

A trip to Chanel would not be complete without checking out the sportswear and RTW collections ... and jewelry.
